Modern technology, especially social networks, is rapidly changes the way we all support and donate to our favorite causes. Organizations that support and house homeless people are no exception. In this installment of RGR, I’ve scrutinized the Internet for new and easy ways to stay informed, advocate, and donate.
It’s not just your computer, mobile devices, and tech service providers that are getting in on the act. Around the country and the world, people are inventing new, exciting, fun, and even delicious ways to help homeless people. I found so many of these articles, I can’t link to all of them here, but I did link you to lists of links.
I’ve learned how to imbed video with my Windows Live Writer, so please take the time to view the new Video Spotlight below, this week we look at InvisiblePeople.tv; <<< click this link to view hundreds of videos from homeless people who have shared their stories at this YouTube channel. I will be featuring them as well in coming weeks.
I’ve included an article concerning the recent earthquake in New Zealand to emphasize that no one can guarantee they won’t be homeless tomorrow, and because the mainstream media has shoved this disaster in the back seat to favor Japan’s earthquake and tsunami (which I did include last week).
If you see news of homelessness and homeless people, send the bit to streetnewspaper@gmail.com .

I’ve decided to eliminate RGR’s Hall of Shame as a regular feature, but will still include occasional articles that may not be so favourable, so until next week...behave yourselves, exercise your creativity, and try and use it for the common good.
